Manage Your Experiments
Test and optimize content to boost sales
Manage Your Experiments takes the guesswork out of listing optimization by letting you test your product detail page content to see what drives the most sales. Optimized content can help increase sales by up to 20%.1
What is Manage Your Experiments?
Manage Your Experiments is a tool that lets you test different versions of your product images, titles, bullet points, descriptions, and A+ Content—including Brand Story—to see what resonates with customers and drives the most sales. Use these data-backed insights to optimize your product detail page and help convert potential customers into buyers.
How do experiments work?
During an experiment, customers who view your product detail page are randomly split into groups and presented with different versions of the content you’re testing. Once we’ve gathered enough data to offer statistically significant results, you’ll see how each version performed using metrics like units sold, sales, conversion rate, units sold per unique visitor, and sample size. You’ll also see the projected one-year impact of the winning content on your sales.
Who can use Manage Your Experiments?

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the product requirements for Manage Your Experiments?
A product is eligible for Manage Your Experiments if it belongs to your enrolled brand and has received enough traffic in recent weeks to produce valid experiment results. You must also have published a Brand Story or other A+ Content to run those types of experiments.
What are tips for creating an effective experiment?
To create an effective experiment:
- Make your experimental content significantly different from existing content: The greater the difference, the better the chance your experiment results will be meaningful and not due to random chance.
- Let your experiment run for the entire duration: Even if early results are promising, they can sometimes be misleading. Run an experiment until completion to help ensure your results are reliable.
- Use the pre-selected settings to get results quicker: Use the default settings so the experiment will start as soon as validation is complete, run until there’s enough data to declare a winner (“to significance”), and the winning content will be published automatically.
- Use multi-attribute experiments to test changes to multiple types of content at once: Test various attributes like title, images, and bullet points in one single experiment.
What is the average duration of an experiment?
If selecting your own duration, we recommend running experiments for 8 to 10 weeks to allow enough time to generate statistically significant results. If using the pre-selected “to significance” setting for duration, which runs experiments until there’s enough data to declare a winner, you can sometimes get results as soon as four weeks.
What is Version A and Version B in an experiment?
In Manage Your Experiments, Version A is the current published content and Version B is the new version of content you want to test.
How do I create new versions (Version B) of content to test?
For product descriptions, titles, and bullet points, you enter the new content you want to test (Version B) directly into the relevant box in the tool.
For images, you upload the image, then use the file picker to select the product image.
For A+ Content and Brand Story experiments, you can simply duplicate your current content and then modify it by selecting Start by duplicating Version A in Manage Your Experiments to navigate to the A+ Content manager.
