Step 1

Qualify for Amazon Renewed

Sign up as a seller or log in to your Seller Central account.

To qualify for Amazon Renewed, you must have experience selling repaired or refurbished products and be able to show you meet our quality requirements. Your products must be inspected, repaired, cleaned, tested, and repackaged (if applicable) to ensure they meet original manufacturer specifications.

Step 2

Apply to Amazon Renewed

Complete the Amazon Renewed application to demonstrate you can meet our quality policy.

Note: Approval decisions are typically made within 10 days, but processing times may vary.

Step 3

List your Renewed products

Once you’re an approved Renewed seller, you can list products using the Certified Refurbished ASIN Creation tool in Seller Central.

Step 4

Price your Renewed products

In compliance with the Amazon Marketplace Fair Pricing Policy, you must list Renewed products at a 5% or more discount than their new product counterpart.

You can use Automate Pricing to set a Renewed Pricing Rule that automatically adjusts your prices based on price changes for the corresponding new product.

Step 5

Fulfill orders and uphold quality standards

Fulfill customer orders by using Fulfilled by Merchant or Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA). Ship products with all relevant accessories that customers would expect with a new product.

What information will I submit as part of my Amazon Renewed application?
You’ll provide the following as part of your application:
You’ll also confirm you comply with and understand all Amazon Renewed policies, including that your company backs all of your refurbished products with the Amazon Renewed Guarantee and is responsible for all claims under the guarantee.
What types of sellers can qualify for Amazon Renewed?
Renewed sellers are distributors or resellers, manufacturers or brand owners, brand-authorized refurbishers, refurbishers, repairers, or ITAD providers:
  • Distributor or reseller: You purchase products from manufacturers or other suppliers, then sell them to retailers, businesses, or end-consumers.
  • Manufacturer or brand owner: You own the company that designs, produces, and owns the intellectual property rights to the product.
  • Brand-authorized refurbisher: You are certified by the brand and strictly follow refurbishment requirements specified by the brand.
  • Refurbisher: You source, inspect, test, and cosmetically restore used products without actually opening the device.
  • Repairer: You have specialized processes and operations set up to repair any used or damaged products.
  • IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) provider (IT Asset Disposition): You provide ITAD services and refurbish sets of used parts or products.
What are the requirements for the invoices I need to include with my application?
Invoices showing the required values and timelines for refurbished purchases must be authentic and unaltered and should show a completed transaction, your full business name and address, the supplier's full name and contact information, and the purchase quantity.

Invoices must be itemized with brand and model information for the purchased goods that can be validated online.

Documents like retail receipts, order confirmation, or manifests, or invoices issued before formalized transactions like sales quotes or pro formas, will not be accepted as valid proof.
What are the requirements for the images I need to include with my application?
Images included with your application should show a sample product from all sides (front, back, top, bottom, left side, right side), the product packaging, and accessories showing the brand.

If the product has a screen, include a picture with the screen on.

Images must demonstrate that the items meet requirements for Renewed's cosmetic grade of Excellent condition.

Mockups or digitally altered images of the product or product packaging will not be accepted as valid proof.
How can I check the status of my Renewed application?
We typically provide application review decisions within 10 days of submission, but processing times may vary due to several factors.

What are the listing requirements for Amazon Renewed?
Follow these guidelines when listing products:
  • Adhere to all Amazon product detail page rules and product image requirements.
  • Include “(Renewed)” at the end of the product title. For example, Nikon Coolpix S7000 Wi-Fi Digital Camera (Renewed).
  • Don’t use your seller name as the brand or manufacturer, unless your product is a private label.
  • Don’t mention warranties in your title, descriptions, or bullet points.
What happens if I don’t meet performance requirements after I’m approved to sell with Renewed?
Failure to meet quality requirements may lead to the deactivation of Renewed selling privileges, and may require the submission of a remediation plan of action to regain these privileges.
What if I don’t qualify for Renewed but do sell pre-owned products?
If you don’t meet the Renewed qualification requirements, you can still list your pre-owned products that meet standard Amazon listing requirements under the Used condition.
What happens when Amazon purchases my Renewed products as a test buy?
Products purchased for a test buy will be returned to you through the regular returns process and will not affect any performance metrics.
