My seller identity verification failed despite document submission. Who can help me with the reasons for the same?
During identify verification, you have to upload two documents
- Business license, with business name and registered business address
- Valid national ID with photo (e.g., passport, driver’s license, voter ID)
Please make sure that you have submitted valid, legible copies of original documents. Some sellers encounter an error based on the following reasons:
- Seller did not upload the requisite documents.
- Business license (e.g., name, address) does not match seller account details.
If identify verification continues to fail:
- China-based sellers: Our account management team China will get in touch with you to help you through the process.
- US-based sellers: Our account management team will get in touch with you, or you can email globalsalesindia@amazon.com.
Can I re-upload new documents in the identify verification process?
If identify verification fails, you cannot upload new documents. You will need to share your documents directly with an Amazon representative, and we will reference them to complete your verification.
For China-based sellers, our account management team in China will get in touch with you to collect and submit the new documents.
For US-based sellers, you may email your documents to globalsalesindia@amazon.com.

The registration process mentions “carrier onboarding.” What does this mean?
In order to sell on Amazon.in you need to partner and ship orders through one of Amazon’s recommended carriers. This is to ensure compliance with India regulations. During registration, you’ll be asked to partner with any of the recommended carriers, and share a contract ID with Amazon.
Why do I need to choose an Amazon-partnered carrier?
These carriers are integrated with Amazon system and will help in two ways: (1) clearing orders at India customs in a timely and compliant manner, and (2) providing order tracking visibility to the customer.
How is FBA different in India than other stores?
Indian regulations do not permit global entities to engage in direct B2C (business to customer) retail. The Amazon India team assists brands by connecting them with an Indian third-party company to help with listing their selection in the FBA model. Outside of this model, out-of-country brands can launch on FBA by: (1) setting their own entity in line with the FDI norms, or (2) partnering with a distributor/Amazon in an outright purchase model.
What are the requirements to become an FBA seller in the India store?
To become an FBA seller in the India store, you need to connect with a third-party company. The third-party company will check your business verification documents and products and help guide you on the listing. You will need to work with these service providers to maintain your inventory in Amazon fulfillment centers and sell in India.
